Electric water heater installation
A slimline electric water heater fitted in a cupboard, with a dedicated circuit, local isolation and full testing, giving the property mains pressure hot water without a gas supply.
The brief.
The property needed reliable hot water without relying on a gas boiler, and there was only a narrow cupboard to work with. A slimline electric water heater was the right fit: it stores enough hot water for the household, heats it efficiently, and its digital controls let the owner set temperatures and heating times to suit their tariff.
What we did.
- Assessed the supply and consumer unit to make sure they could take the extra load
- Installed a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit, sized for the heater
- Fitted a local isolator next to the heater for safe maintenance
- RCD protection and supplementary checks on earthing and bonding
- Worked alongside the plumbing installer, who fitted the cylinder, expansion vessel and pipework
- Tested the circuit, set the heater up and issued an Electrical Installation Certificate
The result.
Hot water on demand from a compact, efficient heater that fits neatly in a cupboard, safely wired on its own circuit and certified.
