Fibre optic installation.
Fibre backbones between comms rooms, floors and buildings. Multimode and singlemode, terminated, tested and documented.
Speed and distance copper cannot match.
Copper data cabling is limited to 100 metres. When you need to link comms rooms on different floors, separate buildings on a site, or carry very high speeds, fibre is the answer.
We install internal and external fibre, terminate it into patch panels in your cabinets, and test every core so you have a record of exactly how it performs.
Where fibre makes sense
- Backbones between floors and comms rooms
- Links between buildings on the same site
- Warehouses and sites with long cable runs
- Very high bandwidth links between switches
- Areas with heavy electrical interference
- Future proofing a new building
What's included.
Multimode and singlemode
OM3 and OM4 for links within buildings, OS2 for longer distances.
Internal and external
Armoured and external grade fibre for runs between buildings.
Patch panels
Fibre terminated into patch panels in your comms cabinets.
Loss testing
Every core tested, with results handed over.
Documentation
Labelling and records of every link and core.
With power and copper
Planned alongside your electrics and copper cabling.

Planned with the rest of the network.
Fibre is rarely installed on its own. It links the cabinets where your copper cabling lands, and those cabinets need power. Because we do all three, the routes, the containment and the cabinets are planned together.
For links between buildings we survey the route, which may be through existing ducts, along walls or overhead, and recommend the right cable construction for it.

Questions about fibre optic.
What is the difference between multimode and singlemode fibre?
Multimode is generally used within buildings and over shorter distances. Singlemode carries signals much further and is used for longer links between buildings and sites.
Can fibre run between two buildings?
Yes, using external grade or armoured fibre through ducts, along structures or overhead, depending on the route.
Do you test the fibre?
Yes. Every core is tested for loss and the results are included in your handover documents.
Is fibre more fragile than copper?
Fibre needs careful handling during installation, but once installed and protected in the right containment it is very reliable.
