Electrics for shops and retail fit-outs.
Lighting, power and data for shops, cafés and showrooms, from a single unit to a flagship store. Built to the fit-out programme and finished for opening day.
Lighting that sells.
In a shop, lighting does half the selling. Every display has to be lit clearly, with true colours and no glare, and the window has to draw people in from the street. Behind the scenes, tills, card machines, screens and Wi-Fi all need reliable power and data from day one.
Our retail work includes Jimmy Fairly's eyewear shop at 63 Regent Street, with track spotlights, downlights and lit shelving, and a coffee shop fit-out in Holborn with pendants, track lighting and power for the counter and kitchen equipment.

Built to the opening date.
Fit-outs run to tight programmes with other trades on site. We work to the shopfitter's or main contractor's programme, get first fix done early so walls and ceilings can close up, then come back to fit, aim and commission the lighting once the displays are in.
For existing shops we can work out of hours so you keep trading, and we test and certify everything before the doors open.
Accredited and approved.
NICEIC Approved Contractor (registration no. 609893000), SafeContractor approved, and ECS-carded electricians on every job.

Questions about retail electrics.
Can you work to a shopfitter's programme?
Yes. We regularly work alongside shopfitters and main contractors, planning first and second fix around the other trades so the shop opens on time.
Can you do the data cabling for tills and Wi-Fi too?
Yes. We install power and data together, so tills, card machines, screens and Wi-Fi are all ready on opening day without a second contractor.
Do shops need emergency lighting?
Most shops open to the public need emergency lighting on escape routes and exits, based on the fire risk assessment. We design, install and test it to BS 5266.
How often does a shop need an EICR?
Usually every five years, or sooner if the landlord or insurer asks. A new report at the start of a lease is also common.
