A temporary power distribution board with rows of 16A outlets

Temporary site electrics and builders' supplies.

Safe, tested power for building sites, refurbishments, pop-ups and events. From a single builder's supply to a full site distribution board, installed fast and taken away when you are done.

Power on site from day one.

Most building work starts with the same problem. The old installation is coming out, or there is no supply at all, and the trades need safe power and light to get going. We install temporary builders' supplies and site distribution so your programme can start on time, then strip it out or convert it into the permanent installation when the job is finished.

We also build temporary power for events, pop-up venues and refurbishments where the building has to keep trading. Every temporary installation is designed for the load, protected by RCDs, tested and certified, and inspected at regular intervals while it is in use, as BS 7671 expects for construction and demolition sites.

When to talk to us

  • A renovation or new build that needs power before the permanent wiring
  • Old wiring being stripped out of an occupied or empty building
  • Trades needing 110V tool power and task lighting
  • A site cabin, welfare unit or office that needs connecting
  • An event, market or pop-up that needs safe distribution
  • A temporary supply that has not been inspected in the last three months

What's included.

Builders' supplies

A metered or sub-metered supply board with isolation, RCD protection, sockets and outlets, fixed safely on site.

Site distribution

Distribution boards and outlet panels for single and three-phase loads, built for the number of trades and tools on site.

110V tool power

Transformers and 110V outlets for site tools, with yellow outlets kept separate from mains supplies.

Site and task lighting

Festoon, floodlighting and task lighting for corridors, stairs and work areas, plus emergency lighting where needed.

Cabins and welfare units

Supplies to site cabins, offices, drying rooms and welfare units, with the right cable routes and protection.

Testing and inspection

Full testing and certification on installation, with periodic inspections while the site is live, and a clean strip out at the end.

From survey to strip out.

Tell us what the site needs, how many trades will be working, any big loads such as heaters, mixers or welders, and how long the supply will be in place. We check the incoming supply, design the temporary installation around the load and give you a clear written price. If there is no supply yet, we can help with the application to the network operator and set things up for when it arrives.

Once installed, the temporary system is tested and certified, and we return to inspect it at regular intervals while the site is running. On construction sites that is typically every three months. When the permanent installation is ready, we remove the temporary equipment or reuse parts of it, so nothing is left behind.

Questions about temporary site electrics.

How quickly can you install a builder's supply?

Often within a few days of the survey, depending on the incoming supply and what the site needs. Let us know your start date and we will plan around it.

Do I need 110V on site?

For portable tools on construction sites, 110V centre tapped earth supplies are the industry standard because they greatly reduce the risk of a serious shock. We supply and connect the transformers and outlets.

How often does a temporary installation need inspecting?

BS 7671 recommends construction site installations are inspected and tested at intervals of no more than three months. We can book these in for you for the life of the site.

Can you power an event or pop-up venue?

Yes. We build temporary distribution for events, markets and pop-ups, from a single outlet panel to multi-outlet three-phase boards, tested and certified before the doors open.

What happens at the end of the job?

We strip out the temporary installation, or convert parts of it into the permanent supply, and leave the site safe and tidy.
