Kitchen extension rewire, Biggin Hill
A full rewire of a new kitchen extension in Biggin Hill, from downlights and an island pendant to dedicated circuits for the ovens, hob and extractor.
The brief.
The homeowners in Biggin Hill were opening up the back of the house into a large kitchen and dining space, with an island, a tall oven stack, an induction hob and French doors onto the garden. The old wiring could not support a kitchen like that, so the whole room needed rewiring, planned around the kitchen layout before the units and worktops went in.
What we did.
- First fix wiring planned around the kitchen design, before plastering and unit installation
- Recessed LED downlights across the ceiling, with a pendant over the island
- Dedicated circuits for the double oven stack and the induction hob
- Supplies and isolation for the extractor hood and integrated appliances
- Sockets placed along the worktops and on the island side, where they would actually be used
- A wall-mounted TV point with hidden cabling, and wiring for the heating controls
- Full testing, an Electrical Installation Certificate and building control notification
The result.
A bright, modern kitchen with power exactly where the family needs it, every appliance on the right circuit, and the certificates to show it was done properly.
